Background

Antarctic Heritage Trust is a New Zealand-based not-for-profit with a vision of ‘Inspiring Explorers’.

Through its mission to conserve, share and encourage the spirit of exploration the Trust cares for the remarkable Antarctic expedition bases of early explorers including: Captain Robert Falcon Scott, Sir Ernest Shackleton and Sir Edmund Hillary. It shares the legacy of exploration through outreach programmes and encourages the spirit of exploration through exciting expeditions to engage and inspire a new generation of explorers.

Role Objectives

Help us share our stories

We are looking for a communications professional who wants to work as part of a small, high performing team to share its stories. As world leaders in cold-climate conservation with a commitment to inspire the next generation of explorers through our outreach programmes, our stories often generate global interest.

The role is a broad communications role, however has a strong digital focus working across multiple platforms.

The successful applicant will have proven knowledge and experience in delivering integrated communications campaigns, supporting events and building positive relationships.

This role has a strong emphasis on the creation of content for social media and digital platforms. A solid working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn is required as is the ability to work with various content management systems confidently. Experience with creating simple video content and graphic design content would be helpful (but is not essential).

The Communications Advisor is also responsible for helping deliver the annual publications calendar, including co-ordinating the design and print process.

Role Requirements

The successful candidate will be entitled to work in Aotearoa New Zealand (hold New Zealand Citizenship or Residency, or a current, transferable Work Visa.

You will have two or more years’ experience in a communications role with hands on experience developing and delivering communications campaigns.
